Service profile: sector specific services

This service profile gives information about our sector specific services: the Statement of Comparability for Construction Skills, and the Early Years Service.

Statement of Comparability for Construction Skills

This service aims to help you apply for a CSCS or JIB-PMES card. For the construction and plumbing sectors only.

You need this service if you want to use your overseas qualifications to obtain:

• A Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card from CSCS

• A CSCS card from the Joint Industry Board for Plumbing and Mechanical Engineering Services in England and Wales (JIB-PMES)

If you are applying for a CSCS card through an organisation other than CSCS or JIB-PMES, eg ECS, you may not need this service as each CSCS partner scheme card has its own requirements.

If you work in the construction industry but do not need a CSCS card, you may just need confirmation of the overall level of your studies. The UK NARIC Statement of Comparability can help with this.

If you need a Statement of Comparability for Construction Skills so you can apply for a CSCS or JIB-PMES card, then visit our information page.

Early Years Service

Early Years is pre-primary education. For example: nurseries; day-care centres; kindergartens etc. In England, this means working with children from 0-5 years old.

UK NARIC’s Early Years Service is for people who want to work in an Early Years setting in England. The rules and requirements for this are set by the UK Department for Education (DfE).

If you don’t want to work in the Early Years sector with children from 0-5, for example if you are a primary school teacher, then this service is not for you. Our normal Statement of Comparability service will give you qualification comparisons relevant to your needs.

If you want to work in an Early Years setting in Scotland or Wales or Northern Ireland, then visit our information page.
